Armenia records decrease in remittances

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. Remittances dropped 48,3% in the first half of 2024, finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan said Monday.

“The net inflow of money transfers decreased 48,3 percent. This was mostly due to the 69,4 percent decrease of net inflow of non-commercial money transfers [remittances] from Russia,” Hovhannisyan said at a parliamentary committee hearing on the budget performance.
