Azerbaijani President Aliyev’s former bodyguard found dead in Turkey

YEREVAN, AUGUST 28, ARMENPRESS. A former bodyguard of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has been found dead in his hotel room in a Turkish city where he was vacationing with his family, according to Turkish media reports.

The cause of death will be determined after the autopsy, according to the reports. The body did not have wounds. 

The deceased, Mahir Mammadov, 50, was once a “close bodyguard” of Aliyev, according to the reports.

He was found dead in his room at a 5-star hotel in Kadınlar Denizi neighborhood, Kuşadası, Aydin Province.
