Palestine to apply for BRICS membership after upcoming Kazan summit

YEREVAN, 26 AUGUST, ARMENPRESS. Palestine will submit an application to join BRICS after the October summit in Kazan, where one of the sessions is expected to address the situation in Gaza, Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal said at a news conference, according to Tass.

"After our first participation in the summit, we will submit an application to join this association. Russian President Vladimir Putin has promised that one session will be fully devoted to Palestine. We have very positive expectations for this summit," TASS quoted Nofal as saying.

Nofal also stated that Palestine's invitation to the Kazan summit was a "positive message" and a sign of support for the Palestinian people.
