YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. As a result of the negotiations held in Baku, the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan have issued a joint statement that also addresses the peaceful settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
According to the statement published on the Kremlin's official website, the parties have emphasized the importance of the tripartite statement of November 9/10, 2020, as well as further agreements reached at the highest level, to ensure security and sustainable development in the South Caucasus.
"The Russian Federation has confirmed its readiness to continue contributing to the normalization of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia," the joint statement reads.
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Azerbaijan on August 18 for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
