Yerevan upcoming concerts feature Symphonic Zimmer, Classic Fest and more

YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan City Hall has initiated a series of cultural events in the Armenian capital.

The outdoor concerts program will feature the Symphonic Mansurian and Symphonic Zimmer concerts by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sergey Smbatyan at Freedom Square on August 31 and September 1.

Then, from September 17-24, the 1st International Yerevan Festival of Symphonic Orchestras, the Yerevan Classic Fest, will be held in the Tumanyan park, featuring renowned orchestras from all over the world (orchestras from Milan’s La Scala, the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra), and the National Opera and Ballet Theater’s orchestra and choir, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, and the Yerevan Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In another cultural event, organizers plan to develop Alfred Schnittke’s Concerto based on St. Gregory of Narek's Book of Lamentations into a ballet performance.
