Armenia to have national and commercial pavilions at China International Import Expo 2024

YEREVAN, AUGUST 16, ARMENPRESS. Armenia will be represented at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai with two pavilions: a national and commercial one, organizers said Friday.

“The first one will present our economy, strategy, the state, while in the other one the businesses will be able to sign contracts with international partners, present their products and have sales,” Mariam Manukyan, President of the Council for International Business Relations Support, said at a forum.

The Council for International Business Relations Support has opened representations in over 20 countries since its inception over 20 years ago.

Manukyan pointed out the successful work in China, where Armenian businesses have signed memoranda in five cities to promote the Armenian economy.

Embassy of China chargé d'affaires Chen Ming thanked all Armenian businesses who contributed over the years to the friendly, business cooperation between Armenia and China.

The projects, such as road construction, modernization of solar power stations, the synthetic rubber factory, are steadily developing, he said. 20,000 Chinese tourists visited Armenia in 2023. China Southern Airlines plans to launch flights from Urumqi to Yerevan in September.

“The Chinese side is ready to continue cooperation with Armenian colleagues, by strengthening political trust, deepening cooperation in various areas, strengthening cultural exchanges, and together build a bright future for our bilateral relations,” the Chinese diplomat added.
