Prime Minister Pashinyan offers condolences to family, friends of AMAA Executive Director Zaven Khanjian

YEREVAN, AUGUST 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has extended condolences on the passing of Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) Executive Director Zaven Khanjian, describing him as “worthy son” of the Armenian nation and praising his contributions to the Armenian culture and education.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Armenian Missionary Association of America Executive Director Zaven Khanjian,” Pashinyan said in a statement. “The Armenian nation lost one of its worthy sons, who devoted his life to the preservation of Armenian education and culture and was actively engaged in the Armenian-American community life. During the past ten years, having assumed the position of AMAA Executive Director, Zaven Khanjian continued his fruitful activities in the direction of strengthening the Armenia-Diaspora relations and had contributions in multiple social, educational and cultural programs in Armenia. At this difficult time, I express my sympathy to Mr. Khanjian’s family and friends, colleagues, and all members of the Armenian Missionary Association of America.”

Zaven Khanjian died at the age of 80 on August 9, 2024. He served as AMAA Executive Director since 2014.
