U.S. Embassy congratulates Armenian Olympic medalists

YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS. The United States Embassy in Armenia has congratulated the four Armenian athletes who won medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“Congratulations to the champions from Armenia for winning 3 silver medals and 1 bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympics! Well done, Team Armenia,” the U.S. Embassy said on social media.

Armenian gymnast Artur Davtyan won silver in Men’s Vault, weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan won silver at the Men’s +102kg event and wrestler Malkhas Amoyan won bronze at the Men’s Greco-Roman 77kg event.

Wrestler Artur Aleksanyan (Men’s Greco-Roman 97kg) was awarded silver in a controversial match against Iran’s Mohammadhadi Saravi. Aleksanyan said he was robbed of gold and Armenia appealed the score to the International Olympic Committee.
