YEREVAN, AUGUST 5, ARMENPRESS. The only checkpoint on the land border between Georgia and Russia will be closed for several hours due to technical work, according to the statement from Newsgeorgia.
According to the Georgian Revenue Service, restrictions at the Kazbegi (Upper Lars) checkpoint will be introduced on August 6 from 05:00 to 10:00.
The automated backup distribution power grid is planned to be updated. In connection with this, customs control will be suspended; import and export of goods, passenger traffic in both directions.
"Upon completion of the work, the Kazbegi customs point will resume its normal operation, 24/7, at full capacity," the department said.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry's North Ossetia department, in turn, said that the border will be closed from 01:00 on August 6.
