Sevan Startup Summit has started։ Minister Hayrapetyan emphasizes emerging culture

YEREVAN, JULY 22, ARMENPRESS. The Minister of High Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, along with the First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan, visited the shores of Lake Sevan from July 21-27 for the "Sevan Startup Summit 2024," one of the year's prominent tech events held in the coastal area adjacent to Daranak village.

During the week-long event, startups at various stages present their ideas to investors and mentors, participate in panel discussions, seminars, bonfire talks, entertainment events, and more.

According to the readout issued by the Ministry of High Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan emphasized the significance of the startup culture, not only for Armenia but also for the global tech community. He also highlighted the Armenian government's commitment to fostering this culture, viewing the high-tech industry as a key driver of the nation's economy.

In his speech, the Minister informed the attendees, including representatives of the startup community, entrepreneurs, and guests, that the Armenian government plans to introduce a new toolkit aimed at developing the startup ecosystem through targeted investments and encouraging the entry of new technology companies into Armenia. 

“It’s genuinely challenging to find new words to underscore the significance of startup culture, not only for Armenia but for the global tech community. We know that many prominent Armenian companies were showcased here at the 'Sevan Startup Summit,' and I say this with immense pride. In this regard, I would like to highlight that the event serves as a breeding ground for innovative thought, new ideas, and cutting-edge technological solutions,” Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stated.

The minister wished the participants a successful and inspiring week.

"Sevan Startup Summit" Tent Informal Business Forum has been organized since 2016. Hundreds of startups, entrepreneurs, investors, speakers, mentors from dozens of countries of the world participate in the summit every year to discuss business-technological ideas, investment programs, various topics. Since 2018, the summit has also been organized in the United Arab Emirates and India.

Before the ceremony announcing the opening of the event, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan and First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan, accompanied by the organizers, toured the booths and familiarized themselves with the proceedings of the annual tented informal business forum.
