Armenia and Albania foreign ministries hold political consultations

YEREVAN, JULY 18, ARMENPRESS. Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Albania were held in Yerevan on July 18.

The Armenian delegation was represented by Samvel Mkrtchyan, the Head of the European Department of the Foreign Ministry, and the Albanian delegation was headed by Gazmend Barbullushi, the Director General of Political and Strategic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed several key issues on the bilateral agenda aimed at expanding political dialogue between the two countries and identifying opportunities for cooperation in various fields.

The need for high-level mutual visits, parliamentary diplomacy, the establishment of a legal framework, revitalization of trade, economic collaboration, cultural exchanges, education, and tourism were emphasized.

According to the source, discussions included interaction on multilateral platforms and within international organizations, as well as issues related to recent regional and international developments. Samvel Mkrtchyan also presented the current agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership.

The Head of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented to his colleague the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of this normalization for establishing a stable and predictable environment in the South Caucasus.
