Ararat Mirzoyan participated in an event dedicated to “Women, peace and security”

YEREVAN, JULY 10, ARMENPRESS. On July 9, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Washington, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan participated in an event dedicated to “Women, peace and security”.

According to the statement from the MFA of Armenia. During the event, Minister Mirzoyan had engagements with U.S. colleagues and counterparts from other countries, including Foreign Ministers of Sweden, Greece, Belgium, Slovakia, Netherlands, Czechia, Canada, Montenegro, Bahrain, Georgia and Bahrein.

 “Armenia is committed to efforts for advancing the role of women in peace and security. The second National Action Plan on “Women, peace and security” is currently being implemented.

Among others, it prioritizes addressing issues such as increased involvement of women in the armed forces and police system, in cyber security programs and peacekeeping missions, upholding the protection of the social and economic rights of women and girls as well as protection of rights of forcibly displaced women from Nagorno-Karabakh,” stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
