Armenia invites UAE to participate in Gyumri dry port project

YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS. During his visit to the Russian Federation, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zayiudi and Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi. Deputy Minister Narek Teryan was also present at the meeting.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of agriculture, issues related to export promotion, quality standardization, as well as projects in which the UAE can act as a co-investor.

Presenting the project to create a “dry port” in the Shirak region, the Minister proposed discussing the possibilities of cooperation in this area as well.

Gevorg Papoyan also touched upon the initiative of Armenian government “Crossroads of Peace”, which can contribute to peace and stability in the region for both Armenia and neighboring countries.
