Georgia welcomes decision to begin border demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, JULY 3, ARMENPRESS. Georgia welcomes the historic decision to begin the demarcation process between Yerevan and Baku and supports stability and peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus. Georgian Minister stated this at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

Ilia Darchiashvili noted that regional issues were discussed at the meeting with his Armenian counterpart, and the importance of joint efforts in addressing challenges was emphasized.

“Georgia firmly supports stability and peaceful coexistence in the South Caucasus. We are ready to continue our contribution and promote constructive dialogue and ensure peace and stability in the region within the needs of our neighbors and our capabilities,” Darchiashvili said.

He added that Georgia welcomes the historic decision to begin the border demarcation process between Yerevan and Baku and hopes that the positive dynamics of the peace process will be maintained.

According to the Georgian minister, other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
