Cyprus Defense Minister's visit to Armenia to give new impetus to effective cooperation in military sector -Ambassador

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Cyprus, Tigran Mkrtchyan (residing in Athens), met with the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus, Vasilis Palmas, during his working visit to Nicosia on June 20.

Ambassador Tigran Mkrtchyan noted that the Minister's forthcoming visit to Armenia will enhance the effective cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere.

The parties discussed the steps already implemented and those planned to further develop bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus in the field of defense. They stressed the importance of joint exercises and the exchange of experience among special forces, including organizing courses and joint exercises. They also discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in military education.

The Armenian Ambassador briefed Minister Palmas on the latest regional developments, the security environment around Armenia, the border delimitation between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the progress on peace treaty.
