YEREVAN, JUNE 18, ARMENPRESS. The US President Joe Biden and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the situation in Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific region during their meeting in Washington on June 17, according to a press release from the White House.
“The President welcomed steps NATO Allies are taking to support Ukraine and to deepen partnerships, including in the Indo-Pacific. President Biden and Secretary General Stoltenberg also discussed significant progress on defense spending,” the press release reads.
The parties also emphasized that a record 23 Allies will reach NATO’s threshold, committing 2% of their GDP to defense spending, which is “a more than two-fold increase since President Biden took office.”
