YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS. Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, stated during the weekly press conference that all the domestic political events in the Republic of Armenia are the internal affairs of Armenia as a sovereign state.
Addressing the level of Armenian-Russian relations, Zakharova noted that they have always been built on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, and an understanding of the complexities in the region.
"Many have spared no effort in undermining them. However, in my opinion, Russia has done everything with an open heart and soul to ensure that those attempts fail.
Thousands of lives and destinies have been sacrificed for the stability and security of the region, including those of Russian citizens and our servicemen who defended the region and the Armenian people. We have invested so much heart and effort into the development of our relations that they cannot be spoiled in any way. All of this should be taken into account," Zakharova said, expressing her belief that the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation will always be friends and will continue to develop bilateral relations.
