Russian Federal Council ratifies CIS free trade agreement on services and investments

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. In a plenary session, the Russian Federal Council approved the law on the ratification of the agreement on free trade of services, establishment, activities and investments between the countries of the CIS, reports TASS, recalling that on June 8, 2023, the document was signed in Sochi by the heads of government of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

On October 18, 2011,the agreement was developed in compliance with the decision of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS on the Free Trade Agreement.

According to the documents attached to the law, the agreement does not affect the relations of the EEU member states, between which, compared to this document, freer conditions have been created for trade in services and investment activities. The agreement creates a predictable framework for trading services and investment among EEU member states, including Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
