Greece's main opposition party condemns Azerbaijan’s aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS.The main opposition party of Greece, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, has condemned Azerbaijan's attack on Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the displacement of Karabakh residents from their homeland.

The head of the parliamentary faction of the "Syriza-Progressive Alliance" party, Sokratis Famellos said during the meeting with the Armenian Ambassador to Greece, Tigran Mkrtchyan.

The parties discussed the developments in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh following Azerbaijan's military attack.

Sokratis Famellos emphasized the "Syriza-Progressive Alliance" party's support for the establishment of long-term peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan within the framework of the Brussels settlement process. He condemned any attempt by Azerbaijan to violate the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Armenia.

At the same time, he emphasized the need to guarantee the rights and safety of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians, including those who wish to return to their homes. Additionally, Sokratis Famellos underscored the importance of protecting the cultural heritage monuments of the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians by the international community.

The meeting was attended by the responsible for the party's foreign relations Rena Dourou, as well as Evangelos Kalpadakis, the diplomatic affairs adviser of the "Syriza-Progressive Alliance" party.
