“Today we discover historical values which, unfortunately, are no longer accessible because of the Karabakh conflict. This exhibition is both inspirational and sad, given the situation on the ground, and thus this is a reminder that we must preserve this all and work for preservation of peace and culture,” Foreign Minister Lahbib told Armenpress Brussels correspondent Lilit Gasparyan.

“Even the tragic developments of the past weeks are a testament that this is about a history of suffering,” Boghossian Foundation director and the exhibition’s curator Louma Salamé said. “Nevertheless, the charm remains unchanged, in person of the unique architectural and cultural heritage characteristic to this civilization,” Salamé said, adding that the exhibition will present standing monuments, as well as those that have been lost or are now endangered.

Antoine Agoudjian and Aida Ghazaryan, two artists whose works are displayed, both concurred that arts is of vital importance in the Armenian identity.
