Armenian Foreign Minister briefs Canadian counterpart on aftermath of Azeri aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS. On September 27, Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia spoke by phone with Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

During the phone conversation, issues of regional security and stability were discussed, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed on the consequences of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19 following more than 9 months of blockade of the Lachin corridor. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that Azerbaijan is pursuing its pre-planned policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh, which, along with the use of force, should receive a clear international assessment.

Views were also exchanged on issues of the Armenian-Canadian bilateral agenda.
