YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 22, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Apostolic Church has postponed the Chrism Mass slated for October 1.

In a statement, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin said the decision was made during a meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Assembly on September 22. The reason for the postponement is the grave situation around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the Mother See said.

Instead, October 1 was declared by the Armenian Church as a National Prayer Day for Artsakh. A mass will be held in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and all churches in Armenia and the Diaspora.
