YEREVAN, AUGUST 15, ARMENPRESS. The European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) said it had observed no ‘unusual military movement or buildup’ along Armenia’s border with Azerbaijan, after Baku again falsely accused Armenia of amassing troops on the border.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, EUMA said that it is conducting daily monitoring of the military and security situation from four operating bases patrolling alongside the Armenia-Azerbaijan border area. “Based on information on the ground, we see no unusual military movement or buildup, especially at the entrance to Lachin corridor. We keep patrolling the areas,” EUMA added in the post.
Armenian authorities earlier denied the Azerbaijani accusations on amassing troops and said that the false accusations are part of the Baku's renewed disinformation campaign.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry warned on Monday that Azerbaijan’s ongoing disinformation campaign indicates its intention to aggravate the situation in the region.
