Russia says it thwarted Ukraine drone attack in Moscow region

YEREVAN, JULY 28, ARMENPRESS. Russia has said it has thwarted a drone attack targeting the Moscow region.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said early Friday morning that an ‘enemy drone’ was shot down by the Russian military while it attempted to carry out an attack.

"This night, an enemy drone attempted to carry out an attack and was shot down by forces of the Defense Ministry," Sobyanin said in a statement cited by TASS. "No damage or casualties have been reported."

In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said the attempted attack was carried out by Ukraine.

On July 24, Sobyanin reported that two drones attacked non-residential buildings in Moscow. One was shot down near Komsomolsky Avenue, 17; the other crashed into a building on Likhachev Avenue.
