With over half of problems resolved, Armenia works intensely to lift EU aviation ban

YEREVAN, JULY 26, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is carrying out active work to meet EU aviation regulatory oversight standards and get removed from the EU blacklist, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan has said.

In June 2020, the EU banned all Armenian airlines from entering itsairspace.

“We’ve entered a rather active phase in this sector, in terms of the process of being removed from the blacklist. And we’ve resolved at least half of the problems, and we are dealing with resolving the other half, such as trainings, various processes, for which we have envisaged spending,” he told lawmakers at the parliamentary committee on the economy.

The aviation sector is very rapidly developing in Armenia, he added.
