YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is in “intensive discussions” with many countries regarding the acquisition of new armaments, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said.

Grigoryan told Public Television in an interview that in some cases the results are already seen while talks with other countries still continue.

He said that Armenia is taking into account the fact that Russia’s capacity is unable to export weapons now given its war with Ukraine. “Taking this into account, Armenia has embarked on a path to find other resources,” Grigoryan said.

Armenia’s membership to the CSTO doesn’t limit its cooperation with various countries, although there have been certain limitations in the past, he added. “We are working intensively also with our Western partners to strengthen our cooperation in the security sector and we will continue this work,” Grigoryan added.
