SOAD’s Serj Tankian calls for sanctions against ‘terrorist state’ Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, APRIL 24, ARMENPRESS. “The conscious and genetic pain stays in the forefront of our collective memory,” System of a Down lead vocalist, musician Serj Tankian said on social media on the occasion of Armenian Genocide Commemoration Day.

In an Instagram Stories post, Tankian also addressed the Azerbaijani aggression and called for sanctioning Azerbaijan.

“The conscious and genetic pain stays in the forefront of our collective memory. It continuously reminds us of the importance of the close-knitted reciprocity that we must unitedly exercise to achieve national prosperity,” he said in a post.

Tankian also commented on the Azerbaijani deadly shooting of an Armenian serviceman near Sotk on April 23, as well as the blockade of Artsakh and the recent Azeri checkpoint installation in Lachin Corridor.

“Azerbaijan is a terrorist state,” Tankian said.

“Azerbaijan enforcing their illegal blockade of Armenians with checkpoints. #sanction Azerbaijan,” the musician added.
