Argentina notes need to ensure freedom of movement through Lachin corridor

YEREVAN, JANUARY 27, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister of Argentina Santiago Cafiero expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in the Lachin Corridor and noted the need to ensure freedom of movement through the corridor, the foreign ministry of Argentina said on social media.

“Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero received Aram Mouratian, Regional Director of the Armenian National Council of South America. They reviewed the activities of the Council and the minister highlighted the important contribution of the Armenian community in Argentina. Argentina expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in the Lachin Corridor and noted the need to ensure freedom of movement through the corridor. This action aims to ensure the human rights of the populations involved. He also reiterated the principles that guide Argentine action regarding the defense of human rights and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

Present at the meeting were Claudio Rozencwaig, Undersecretary for Foreign Policy; and Florencia Zanikian, a member of the Armenian National Council,” the Argentine foreign ministry tweeted.
