Azerbaijan will try to cut uninterrupted connection set by trilateral statement, putting us in enclave situation – MP

STEPANAKERT, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan has adopted a slow process of cutting Artsakh from Armenia and integrating it to itself, which has some phases, Member of Parliament of Artsakh from the ARF faction Davit Ishkhanyan said.

“This is one of the regular phases. Of course, it will have its manifestations with different pretexts. But it is very important to understand that Azerbaijan has passed to a new stage and will try to cut the uninterrupted connection enshrined by the trilateral statement and put us in an enclave situation. Therefore, what is proposed to us in the form of an ultimatum, must not be accepted in any way, but we also should not demonstrate emotional approaches and must have a package of successive steps as a legislative, executive power”, he said.

He expressed confidence that the process is directed both against Artsakh and Russia. “But more probably, it is directed against the Russian side because in this case there is the issue of the mandate of 2025, and Azerbaijan needs to make it a subject of speculation and further escalate it in the future”, the lawmaker said, adding that ensuring certain connection with the Armenian partners is also very important in this case.

According to him, Armenia’s partners are a subject of international law and have an opportunity to present their views in different platforms. He informed that the Armenian National Committee is using all its capacities, and awareness-raising campaigns will be carried out in different places.

The lawmaker also highlighted conducting respective activities with different public layers.
