26.5 percent of the population of Armenia considered poor

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. The poverty rate in the Republic of Armenia in 2021 was 26.5%, ARMENPRESS was informed from the report of the Statistical Committee on poverty published on November 30. Although the level of poverty decreased by 0.5 percentage points compared to 2020, the level of extreme poverty increased by 2.1 times - from 0.7% in 2020 to 1.5% in 2021.

According to the report, a citizen is considered poor, whose total monthly consumption was below 48,145 AMD. And those whose monthly consumption is below AMD 26,500 are considered extremely poor.
