If the government interferes unnecessarily with the exchange rate, the economy will only suffer. Pashinyan

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is convinced that if the government makes unnecessary interventions related to the exchange rate, the country's economy will only suffer, ARMENPRESS reports Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with "Public TV Company", addressing the question of whether the government is going to take steps to curb the appreciation of the dram under the conditions that exporters face problems as a result.

"Today, we are proud that among 165 countries of the world, Armenia ranks 11th in the world according to the index of economic freedom. This is also thanks to the fact that Armenia has proven that it is a country with a market economy," said Pashinyan.

According to him, there are concerns, but there are also market realities. "If the government suddenly makes unnecessary interventions regarding the exchange rate, I am sure that our economy will only suffer, only lose," said the Prime Minister.
