YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received ethnic Armenian Member of the Swedish Parliament, Chairman of the Swedish-Armenian friendship groupArin Karapet, the PM’s Office said.
Arin Karapet arrived in Yerevan for the participation in the first Global Armenian Summit.
In his remarks Prime Minister Pashinyan welcomed the ethnic Armenian lawmaker’s visit to Armenia and maintenance of constant ties with the homeland. The PM highlighted the development of Armenian-Swedish inter-parliamentary and inter-governmental relations, including in economy, promotion of Armenia’s democratic agenda and other directions. In this respect, the necessity for organizing high-level mutual visits was emphasized.
Arin Karapet in turn shared his impressions about the Global Armenian Summit and praised its works and the discussions held. He attached importance to creating and strengthening a constant connection between the Armenian lawmakers of parliaments of different countries, which, he said, will contribute to pro-Armenian activities abroad.
The sides attached importance to the activity of the Sweden-Armenia friendship group, as well as the steps aimed at organizing air communication between the two countries. A number of issues relating to expanding the cooperation between the two countries in various areas were discussed.
The meeting also touched upon issues relating to strengthening the Armenia-Diaspora ties, and the possibilities to hold the Global Armenian Summit annually.
