Around 1500 applications received for participation in shooting courses organized by Armenia’s Defense Ministry

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Around 1500 citizens of Armenia, of whom 1300 are female and 200 are male, have submitted applications for the participation in shooting courses organized by the Defense Ministry, Ministry Spokesperson Aram Torosyan told Armenpress.
The shooting courses are for the citizens who have not served in the army.
The courses launch in Yerevan.
“Taking into account the possible employment of the participants, we plan to hold the shooting courses on Saturdays and Sundays. The first course will be held on November 5. The participants will be transported from the central headquarters to the shooting range with the vehicles of the Defense Ministry. They will be provided with food. I want to note that all facilities will be created”, Aram Torosyan said.
Currently, the Ministry is distributing the groups. The authorities assure that all registered persons will have a chance to participate in the courses.
Aram Torosyan stated that the courses will be carried out by experienced military officers.
The course will consist of several parts – weapon structure, study of tactical and technical characteristics, weapon use, study of safety rules, disassembling and assembling weapons, practical shooting training, etc. First aid courses will also be held. The distinguished participants will be promoted.
Aram Torosyan said that the Defense Ministry has received numerous letters, phone calls and proposals from the citizens for holding such kind of courses. At this stage the course will be carried out in Yerevan and later in the provinces. According to Torosyan, it’s highly likely that these courses will take place on a regular basis.
