Universal income declaration system to be introduced in Armenia from January 2024

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. The universal income declaration system will be introduced in Armenia from January 2024, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the parliamentary standing committees’ debate of the 2023 state budget.

The PM stated that the government is going to submit a very important reform draft to the Parliament.

“The talk concerns the introduction of the universal income declaration system in the Republic of Armenia. All citizens of Armenia without exception must submit an income declaration. There is no need to be afraid of this wording. At least at the initial period, 90% of the work will be done by the State Revenue Committee, the citizen will receive his/her declaration completely filled in, the citizen will only confirm that everything is written correctly or, if something is written incorrectly, will speak about the need to correct it”, the PM stated.

For the first time this system will come into force from January 1, 2024.

The universal income declaration system will not create any additional tax liability for citizens working abroad.
