Armenia interested in deeper US engagement in ensuring country’s security and economic development – Speaker

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan received today Ambassador Erin Elizabeth McKee, the Assistant Administrator (AA) for USAID’s Bureau of Europe and Eurasia, and her delegation, the Parliament’s press service said.

Issues relating to the continuation of the Armenian Parliament-USAID cooperation were discussed during the meeting.

Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan said the United States has an important place in Armenia’s political and economic life, adding that Armenia is interested in deeper US engagement in ensuring the country’s security and economic development.

The sides also discussed the prospects projects and programs aimed at strengthening the democratic institutions in Armenia.
