US to provide additional military aid to Ukraine

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The United States is set to provide additional military aid to Ukraine soon, said John Kirby, the strategic communications coordinator at the White House’s National Security Council, reports TASS.

“You’ll see some additional security assistance being provided to Ukraine from the United States through our drawdown authorities,” Kirby told CNN, adding that his country has already provided over 20 aid packages to the Kiev government. “And I think very, very soon you’ll see another one from the United States.”

The Associated Press news agency reported earlier in the day the US administration had approved another package of military aid to Ukraine, worth $275 million. According to unnamed officials cited in the report, the formal announcement is expected within 24 hours. The new delivery will include mostly ammunition from the Pentagon’s coffers, including HIMARS rockets. It will not include weaponry that has never been supplied to Ukraine before.
