YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, ARMENPRESS. It’s not clear with what mechanisms the possible direct discussions between Stepanakert and Baku could take place and discussions on this matter with international partners are ongoing, Civil Contract Member of Parliament Artur Hovhannisyan said at a press briefing.
“No one has final information on the mechanisms at this moment. They are subject to discussion. Discussions on this matter are still proceeding with international partners. But naturally it’s about maximally effective mechanisms in order for that dialogue to be realized as much as possible, and that we’d be able to make a step forward in this regard and ensure the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh on their land,” Hovhannisyan said.
When asked whether it could take place within the OSCE Minsk Group or a new format, the lawmaker said they are engaged in maximally flexible policy and neither are ruled out.
Earlier the Armenian foreign ministry said that “the international partners also share the opinion that the issues of security and protection of all rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh are subject to clarification, and in this regard the discussions between Stepanakert and Baku through international tangible mechanisms are important.”
