“Discover Armenia from the Sky”: Around 20 air balloons to color Armenia’s sky for 5 days this October

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Around 20 air balloons will fill the skies of Yerevan and Garni with colors from October 13 to 17 as “Discover Armenia from the Sky” international balloon festival will kick off.
Speaking to ARMENPRESS, Skyball director Nairi Barseghyan said that the flights will allow to discover the real beauties of Yerevan and Garni from the sky.
He informed that the festival has been organized by his company Skyball with the support of the Tourism Committee of Armenia.
“Around 20 air balloons from Armenia and abroad, such as Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Poland and Russia, will participate in the festival. It seems, Armenia does not lack festivals in recent periods”, he said.
Nairi Barseghyan said the festival is expected to be held in two phases: demonstrative and sports. During the demonstrative phase the air balloons will operate free fights in the airspace of Yerevan and Garni. In the next stage, the crew of every air balloon must fulfill a task, and winners will be selected based on it.
“We are consistent with our goal to raise interest and awareness on Armenia. From the very beginning when the festival was held for the first time in 2017, we decided that it should take place annually as the reaction both by the local people and in international platforms was very big. However, in the past five years some incidents were obstructing to hold the festival and we didn’t do it. But this year we decided that regardless of everything we should try to implement it and make it an annual festival so that both tourists and our people will clearly now that Armenia will host this kind of a festival every October”, he said.
Nairi Barseghyan added that the festival aims at revealing Armenia’s adventure tourism opportunities for the locals and the international community.
