Latest events on Armenian-Azerbaijani border “have nothing to do” with Karabakh, says Putin

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The latest events on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border have nothing to do with Karabakh, according to President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

“The latest event has nothing to do with Karabakh, that’s an entirely different area on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. We really regret the loss of life,” Putin told reporters.

On September 13, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched a major attack on Armenia from several directions, bombarding both military and civilian infrastructures with rocket-artillery and drone strikes.

Azerbaijan halted its attack in the evening of September 14 after a ceasefire was reached.
