Anna Vardapetyan sworn in as Prosecutor General of Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 15, ARMENPERSS. Anna Vardapetyan has been sworn in as Prosecutor General of Armenia.

Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan said that the Prosecutor General takes the oath of office during the session in the Parliament.

Taking the oath of office, Anna Vardapetyan swore to “… protect person’s and citizen’s rights and freedoms, the constitutional order and security of Armenia from criminal encroachments, strengthen the rule of law and keep high the reputation of the prosecution, the title and the good reputation of the prosecutor”.

The Parliament of Armenia elected Anna Vardapetyan as the new Prosecutor General on June 29 in a closed voting. Previously, Anna Vardapetyan has served as assistant to the Prime Minister.
