EU Special Representative meets with Aliyev amid Azerbaijan's attack on Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar is visiting Azerbaijan amid the Azerbaijani attacks on Armenia.

The Azerbaijani presidency said in a statement that on September 14 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Klaar.

According to a statement released by the presidency, Klaar expressed concern regarding the escalation on the interstate border of Armenia and Azerbaijan and noted that the EU leadership held phone calls with both the Azeri president and the Armenian Prime Minister.

Azerbaijan launched renewed attacks on Armenia, shelling and bombarding both military and civilian infrastructure.
