Judge orders release of parliamentary candidate Armen Charchyan

YEREVAN, JUNE 20, ARMENPRESS. Judge Manvel Shahverdyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has approved Armen Charchyan’s complaint against his arrest.

Charchyan was released from jail early Sunday morning.

Charchyan, a renowned doctor and the director of the Izmirlyan Medical Center of Yerevan who is now running for parliament under the Hayastan Alliance led by ex-president Robert Kocharyan, was arrested on suspicion of electoral fraud. He denied wrongdoing.
