Heavy rainfall paralyzes Gyumri traffic, streets flooded

GYUMRI, JULY 13, ARMENPRESS. Heavy rains have paralyzed traffic in Gyumri, Armenia’s second largest city.

The strong rains were accompanied by hailstorms and thunderstorms.

Downtown streets and the roads leading to the city are most heavily flooded. In some parts, vehicles have become stuck in the floodwater.

Power outages are reported in many parts of the city as the severe rainfalls continue.

Local authorities said they have shut down traffic in many parts of the city as a precaution.
