elections as observers

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. A number of famous Diaspora-Armenian cultural figures will arrive in Armenia to take part in the 2017 parliamentary elections as observers, Canadian-Armenian actress, producer Arsinée Khanjian said during the discussion of “Justice in Armenia” initiative, reports “Armenpress”.

She said a number of compatriots have joined the petition held by “Justice in Armenia” initiative. “We have planned to bring our compatriots from Diaspora to Armenia to the parliamentary elections of the next year, and let them take part in the establishment of state as observers”, Khanjian said adding that they will be trained for conducting an observation mission.  

American-Armenian rock musician, founder and soloist of “System of a Down” group Serj Tankian said via Skype that the Diaspora-Armenians are quite separated from Armenia’s economic, political life. “The Diaspora-Armenians do have sufficient understanding on the events in Armenia”, Tankian said.
