Armenia President holds farewell meeting with Iraq Ambassador to Armenia

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received on November 18 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to Armenia Mr.Gazi Tahir Khaled. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Office to the President of the Republic of Armenia, President expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for his efforts in the development and strengthening of Armenian-Iraqi relations wishing new achievements in his further activities.

President Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that tangible progress has been reached in the relations of the two countries during recent years: Embassies operate in the two countries, political dialogue has been fostered, trade and economic relations have been activated resulting in the growth of bilateral trade turnover.

The interlocutors agreed that the abovementioned achievements testify to bilateral readiness and determination in developing and deepening cooperation between the countries.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan expressed hopes that peace and stability will be established in Iraq soon. Armenia President and Iraq Ambassador highly appreciated bilateral cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

Ambassador Khaled thanked for appreciation and best wishes noting that it was a great honor for him to hold office in Armenia which has such a rich history and culture and where he acquired experience and many friends.

He added that no matter where he continued his diplomatic mission, he would remain a friend to Armenia.
