Agreement on Extension of NPP Energy Block Exploitation discussed in Armenia’s Parliament

YEREVAN, 29 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia discusses the Agreement on Extension of Energy Block Exploitation of Armenia’s Nuclear Power Plant. The agreement was signed between the governments of Armenia and Russia, in Moscow, in 20 December 2014.

The main rapporteur, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Areg Galstyan noted that the adoption of the agreement gives opportunity to effectively organize the works of extension of the operation of Armenia’s Nuclear Power second energy block. The legal relationships are regulated and all the organizational issues are resolved by the agreement between the corresponding competent bodies and authorized organizations.

“Actually, we have already fixed in the agreement that the extension of all activities will be carried out in two phases. During the first phase, we will examine the condition of the primary equipment and based on the analytical work the extension of the program will be developed by its volume and assessment, that how much the program will cost”, as “Armenpress” reports, Galstyan underscored.
