Russia to allocate $270 million to extend period of operation of Armenian Nuclear Power Plant

YEREVAN, 26 DECEMBER, ARMENPRESS. The Russian government has given consent to grant a $270 million dollar loan to the Republic of Armenia to extend the period of operation of Armenia’s nuclear power plant. This is what the cabinet of ministers of the Russian Federation reported on December 26, as “ArmenPress” reports.

Earlier, Russia and Armenia had signed an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation to extend the period of operation of the second energy block of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. The parties have agreed that the funds for activities will be transferred to the account of the loan that the Russian Federation will be granting to Armenia.
