Matthew Bryza "attacked" in Baku

YEREVAN, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS. Matthew Bryza’s speech on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly seminar in Baku has caused the Azeris’ discontent. Although in his speech, the former Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and the former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan gave neutral assessments of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its current state, the Azerbaijani side has displayed its typical non-restrained attitude and evaluation. As reports “Armenpress”, in reference to the Azerbaijani APA Agency, Bryza said in his speech that the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan may establish the necessary level of mutual trust in order to achieve settlement and compromise in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Noting that even after many years of the OSCE Minsk Group's activities the conflict still remains unresolved, Matthew Bryza said: "We must continue to work to reduce the likelihood of a military solution to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh".
