Tevan Poghosyan sees opportunity for making Armenia-Iran nuclear cooperation closer

YEREVAN, MARCH 3, ARMENPRESS:The softening of sanctions against Iran can contribute to the development of Armenia-Iran cooperation in the area of peaceful use of nuclear energy. Member of the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Tevan Poghosyan stated this at the course of the discussion entitled “Presentation of 2014 Nuclear Security summit: axial ideas and new solutions” launched on March 3.

The Deputy stated that Armenia also suffered from the sanctions against the country because of the nuclear issue of Iran. “Just two days ago the media spread news that the President of Iran informed about dropping the idea of creating a nuclear weapon. If it will lead to the fact that sanctions against Iran will become softer, new opportunities for Armenia’s economy may open for cooperation within the framework of trade turnover and why not for Armenia-Iran nuclear peaceful knowledge and technology,” Poghosyan said as reported by Armenpress.
