Armenia keeps negotiating with investors on new NPP’s construction: Energy Minister

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is involved in the negotiations regarding the construction of a new Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia. On one hand we are negotiating regarding the involvement of the investors, on another hand technical regulations are being prepared. The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan stated this in a conversation with “Armenpress”. “As the NPP is a quite big construction, there are a row of technical issues, and nobody will build a Nuclear Power Plant, if they are not regulated,” Armen Movsisyan noted.

Among other things the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Armen Movsisyan touched upon the issue of exploitation of alternative energy sources in Armenia and stated that their usage is not expedient taking into consideration the current conditions of our economy.
